On Sept 1st the following participated on an exploratory trail ride on Dollar Creek Trail. Larry, Barb, Jean, Lee, Deana & Bob.
The TH is about 20 miles in from Hwy 55 off Davis Creek Rd and FS 498 to FS 402. Just short of the Needles Trail Head and campground at North Fork Gold Fork River. We traversed the ridges west towards Foolhen, but decided to turn around 1/2 way there. The actual trail splits at Foolhen and one route goes north/west, and one goes south/west. We were hoping that it might turn east and join up with the Needles trail but it does not the way we went. Then we drove out on FS 402 to FS 400 and back to FS 498 and Davis Creek Rd. This way out was 22 miles to Hwy 55. Two incidents on the ride were: Lee got off to walk his Gypsy over a small creek, and Gypsy decided to jump and almost landed on Lee knocking him down, bruising his sit/down area. and Deana riding Lady on the side of the Mt in some sand , Lady thought it was time to lay down and roll, and Deana bailed off over Lady’s head, no injuries since it was sand.
